C. Blake Evernden

C. Blake Evernden is an independent filmmaker, professional illustrator, concept artist, and makeup fx designer. His illustration work has been published as cover art for two independent novels and for the cover of Rue Morgue magazine in the summer of 2018. His movie poster paintings/illustrations have been featured in a gallery setting in the summer of 2018, and he's been commissioned to design and paint movie posters for two independent feature films.


He has crafted two feature films as writer-director, as well as working professionally as a special makeup fx artist on over four independent features, and key and assistant makeup work on short film productions through institutions such as the Canadian Film Centre, as well as more than 20 short films, music videos and commercials. His personal practice in cinema often focuses on his interest in the practical analog aspects of cinema, crafting acrylic matte paintings, prosthetics fx design and miniature works.


​He has worked professionally as a storyboard and concept artist in the commercial industry for the past twelve years, including concept and character development artwork. He has been commissioned to production manage, photograph and edit various documentary research shoots to New York and throughout Southern Alberta. His work has been recognized through the San Antonio genre festival Horrorfest for Best Special FX, and his feature film Prairie Dog has won four awards at festivals worldwide and his most recent short film Spider has won three on the festival circuit. His latest short film, A Wink or a Smile, is currently out to festivals, having won best comedy short at the Alternative Film Festival in Toronto. He's currently in production on his latest short film, Rationale.
